A-Town Down Pt. 2: Moreland Avenue
The included photographs are a selection from A-Town Down Pt. 2.
As a whole, A-Town Down focuses on Atlanta, Georgia, and the project remains an effort to photograph areas of the city during a time of changing social and community dynamics.
One of the United States' fastest-growing cities, Atlanta currently finds itself at a turning point in its history, claiming the position of the eighth largest metropolitan region in the country. The city's population boost, during the worst economic recession in decades, brings with it unprecedented challenges to the growth of the city.
The photographs in A-Town Down Pt. 2 were taken on Moreland Avenue. Moreland Avenue stretches about nine miles within Atlanta's city limits, and it forms a large portion of the county line between two of the metro-area's largest counties. The avenue also runs through several of the oldest neighborhoods on Atlanta's Eastside.
